COLUMBUS, OH – Today, Vote for Ohio Kids announced that Governor Mike DeWine and Nan Whaley have officially accepted invitations to participate in the Vote for Ohio Kids Leadership Forum on Thursday, October 6 in Columbus.

Vote for Ohio Kids is a coalition of business, education, and healthcare leaders dedicated to driving a powerful agenda that embraces the idea that investing to provide a strong foundation for kids and their families is integral to a healthier, more productive, and economically vibrant Ohio. “We’re thrilled to provide a platform for our gubernatorial candidates to lay out their visions for supporting the well-being and healthy development of Ohio’s children,” said Shannon Jones, President and CEO of Groundwork Ohio. “With the COVID-19 pandemic’s far-reaching negative impacts on children and their families, there has never been a more critical moment for our elected leaders to embrace a path forward that provides a strong foundation for Ohio kids.” Groundwork Ohio, the Ohio Children’s Hospital Association, and Ohio Excels are leading Vote for Ohio Kids, a nonpartisan initiative in partnership with business, education, and healthcare leaders from across the state. The coalition includes more than 50 business leaders in Ohio because they understand that their success goes hand-in-hand with children’s mental health, healthy development, and access to affordable, high-quality systems of support. The leaders of Vote for Ohio Kids recently authored an op-ed in the Columbus Dispatch on the importance of Ohio’s gubernatorial candidates putting our state’s children at the forefront of their agendas. More information about the forum on October 6, which is currently open for attendance through sponsorships, is available here.
